The Swedish soprano Anna Büchel obtained her master’s degree in Opera and Music theatre at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg this year. In June 2015, she finished her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Voice at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. She also holds a diploma from the Stockholm Operastudio in Sweden.
In August 2018 Anna performed as Musetta in La Bohème in Montecatini in Italy, a role she already sang earlier with the Accademia Europea Dell’Opera in Lucca. In June and July she also performed as Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at the Oper im Berg and Schloss Amerang Festivals. She sang Lauretta in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi at the Grosses Studio at the Mozarteum in the summer of 2017. There she also performed as the Female Chorus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia in January 2016 and as Sandrina in Mozart’s La finta giardiniera in May 2016. Past roles include Eugenia in Il filosofo di campagna in St. Petersburg, Ilia in Idomeneo, Servilia in La clemenza di Tito and Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Stockholm Operastudio, and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with the International Belcanto Academy. In the summer of 2014 she sang Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni for the Ticino Musica Festival in Switzerland.
